Students do not often consider or have access to what is available to them right here in their community. Participate and help us better equip students to make deliberate decisions about their future career goals.

Single Day

1-4hr time commitment

Single-day events typically allow students the opportunity to explore a variety of different growing, high-demand careers by participating in short informational interviews with industry professionals.

These events are an excellent chance for students to gather information about the necessary preparation, required knowledge, and interesting facts about multiple careers.

Multi-Day

2-3 days of a 1-4hr time commitment

A multi-day volunteer opportunity provides time to support and advise on the technical aspects of a student’s project. A student project is a large, often complex project designed around a student’s career and educational interests and goals.

Quarterly

Commitment varies from quarterly meetings to internships.

Quarterly volunteers may assist in the development of relevant instruction, curriculum, equipment, and facilities that closely reflect industry standards. Alternatively, quarterly involvement might include an on-site or classroom-based internship. Internships provide students with opportunities to experience hands-on learning in a real-life environment.

Multi-Day

Lend your expertise, model problem solving, and spark student interest in your career field.

2 or 3 days of a 1-4hr time commitment

Over a couple of days, a volunteer can provide more in-depth support and advise in the technical aspects of a student’s project. A student project is a large, often complex project designed around a student’s career and educational interests and goals. When a volunteer can support students through a final project presentation or the design aspects of a beginning project, the student gets access to an additional role model and expertise outside their everyday network. As a volunteer you may:

  • Provide expertise related to your industry
  • Help in the production of a model or product.
  • Act as a competition judge and provide direct feedback to students on their performance in academic events.
  • Guide the development and delivery of a presentation to an audience.
  • Model the steps to analyze and solve problems.

  • Promote constructive and necessary change within the schools industry related programs to address the skills gap
  • Provide workplace experience for readiness/soft skills and entry level job skills essential for success in the workplace
  • Enhance your onboarding process

Our staff will work with you to tailor your business engagement goals to match your desired time commitment. You will be contacted within 48 hours by an nConnect staff member.

Together we will assess your goals and your desired time commitment. Once we have had a conversation, we can provide the immediately available opportunities to connect with schools or pull the relevant personnel together to discuss a more involved engagement.
